We’re recruiting for an Administrator & HR Assistant!

 

We’re looking for a part-time Administrator and HR Assistant to join our team and help us continue to produce the finest bread in Leeds. Experience of working in an administrative capacity within a busy office environment is essential, as is the ability to multi-task and prioritise. You must have excellent customer service skills and an eye for detail.

We are an artisan bakery and workers’ co-operative, making slow fermented and sourdough breads. We started in summer 2012 and have been in production since 5th July 2013. We sell our bread at markets, to wholesale customers and through a bread subscription scheme, as well as training volunteers and running baking classes.

Our ethics and values are very important to us, and form a solid basis for our decision making. Our aims are to create a sustainable business model that will serve the employees/members as much as our customers. We function as a co-op, with a flat management structure – everyone’s input is valued and all members and employees have the opportunity to influence the business. We love our local community and collaborate with and support other businesses and organisations who care about others and the environment, and do good stuff.

All new recruits join Leeds Bread Co-op as an employee, with application for membership available after 6 months. Membership of the co-op means taking on an active role in the management of the business, so an applicant for the role may have an interest in being much more involved in the running of the business beyond the team that they work in. We also have a flat wage structure which means all staff – employees and members – are paid the same. And as the business grows, so will our wages!

The role is for a working week of 24 hours, and will involve a short, but regular weekend shift. Wages are paid 1 month in arrears and the wage is £8.20 an hour. The role has a holiday entitlement of 28 days holiday pro rata.
